NB! Each new edition is unique, as this involves sensitive analog technique *cyanotype.
*Cyanotype, also known as iron-blue print, is a photographic process where the image is developed on paper through the interaction of iron-containing chemicals and ultraviolet light. The result is an image with white lines on a blue background.
The uniqueness of iron-blue print
This photo development technique, dependent on multiple factors, makes both the process and the result special – it’s possible to strive for a certain perfection, which requires skill and mastery, but at the same time one shouldn’t be discouraged by imperfections and defects, which can add nuances, layers and uniqueness to the images.
The works presented in the exhibition “Nordic Blue” were created in a laboratory using UV lamps. Due to the sensitivity of the process, each hand-developed photo is unrepeatable.
The photo belongs to the “Nordic Blue” exhibition collection.
