On Wednesday, January 15th at 6 pm, a talk event with the authors and a short tour of the exhibition “Ingrians – Hidden Stories” will take place. The exhibition is largely based on the journey of Ingrian journalists, father and daughter Lea and Santeri Pakkanen, as they trace their roots, accompanied by renowned Finnish photographer Meeri Koutaniemi, who focuses on human rights issues. Together, they travelled the locations of former prison camps and deportation sites in Northern Russia and the historical territory of the Ingria area.
The authors of the exhibition, Lea & Santeri Pakkanen and Meeri Koutaniemi will meet at the Documentary Photo Centre for a one-time event to talk about their work, Ingrian identity, the origins of the exhibition, the long journey to its completion, and the obstacles and challenges encountered along the way.
The talk, held in English, will be moderated by one of the exhibition’s curators and co-director of the Documentary Photo Centre, Toomas Järvet.
